I'd like to create a web page for the Corvettefaq that lists all of the cool wheels that are available for our C3s (from 15" to 19+") so if you have any information on a wheel or wheels (name, price, pic) that would be great if you could add them here to the thread.
I think this is a great idea. I'm in the market for some new wheels. If forum members were willing to give pics of the wheels on thier car and other info like rim size, back spacing and tire size this would be helpfull for all others who are still looking . :D just my 2 cents Rick
Great idea Terry. There are so many posts requesting wheel data/pics that a site would be extremely helpfull in ones decision making process. Kind of like "one stop shopping". Thanks for all your efforts in this endeavor.
The above wheel is an Eagle Allows Series 117, available in 15x8 and 15x10. I have 4-15x8's with 255 60's on my car and they clear the calipers by a whole 1/4". I purchased them from a special at http://www.customwheel.com They are available in silver, polished and chrome.
I stumbled across this wheel, available in 18 x 8.5. It's an Akuza Velocity.
They are $995 and include 5/16 spacers, centers and lug nuts. They say they have put them on a 1,000 vettes with no problems. http://www.vintagewheelworks.com/v45.html
Terry and others,
Don't forget to mention if you needed spacers in order to clear the calipers. That is my main concern before buying wheels. I want something in 16-17" that looks good on my 79, without needing a spacer.
Terry,
Thanks for the posts, I had just sent Markus an email asking which Rallys he bought and where he got them. I got some new tires on my pickup Friday at Discount Tire, and asked them for a price on the 17x8 Rallys, and their price was $200.00 each + $16.50 each tax + shipping of $19.00 each! I think I'll get mine at Summit and get them mounted and balanced somewhere else!
Thanks again for the info!
