Just replaced all headlight vacuum lines with kit from Ecklers.
In the nose of the car, there are 2 vacuum distribution blocks that help the headlights come up and down, there are 3 hoses connected to each. What is this called, I think mine are bad and can't find replacements.
I can blow in each hose with the red line and each headlight comes up. I can suck the air out and each goes down, but when I go throuth that distribution block, I can hear air leaking from the bottom of this block, same with the other one.
Is this common, is there a cheap fix or do I just replace them?
This webpage has a help section that should help you with the troubleshooting of vacuum problems. From your description, I think you are talking about the vacuum control relays.
There are some on Ebay now for $38.00 each. I didn't think it was worth my time to try and rebuild them. Now, the actuators were a different story, they're a snap to rebuild with the new seals and boots.
Restore w/ black RTV to the seals.
Un-crimp, remove plunger, clean rubber with alcohol, apply some Black RTV to seals, let dry some. Apply a little Vaseline to tube, re-install plunger, spring and cap, and re-crimp.
See the topic link I posted. 71 Green 454 posted pics. when he did it.
