Roger, do you have a diagram for 68? My brake lights will not work either. i have checked the brake light switch, 12+volts coming out. All fuses are good, and all grounds at the rear are tight. i assume its the turn signal switch??? because i have jumped the (white) wire coming from the brake light switch to the "green brake light" wire on the half moon connector that goes back to the rear of the car. it works but if i have my right blinker on and press the brake at the same time the blinker stops blinking.. i have tried to jump it to the yellow wire, which is the left blinker and it does the same. (stops blinking) i figured if i was in traffic i would rather have the left blinker working, rather than the right blinker... or at least until i can figure out what it is...

any advice pls help.

Once you jumper the white to the green or yellow and step on the brake you have bypassed the turn signal switch-no blinky. Sound like you have a problem in the turn switch. Some have been running a separate single brake light wire to the rear doing away with the backup light or adding one.
