Default Connecting e-brake cable

Jeez, I feel stupid again. I just installed new Delco calipers on the rear of my car. I figured the e-brake cable would be the last thing to install. Guess I was wrong. I can't get the cable to 'snap' into the e-brake actuator arm on the wheel. Is there a trick or do I have to take it all apart and snap the cable into the lever BEFORE I install the calipers? I've tried all kind of long thin tools working through the space where the inner pad goes.

Can you guys help me out again?

Thanks for all the help in the past.

Dick

Install the cable 1st. You'll be fighting it all day if you don't.

I think I understand what your saying. You should be able to take the adjuster nut off and get enough slack to get both ends in place (as VS said), then put the adjusting nut back on.
