I would try to get a gasket from GM. I have always had trouble with gaskets that were folded. The GM ones come flat on a cardboard sheet, no creases.
I obtained a filter kit with the gasket you mentioned from Advance also, but became concerned about its ability to seal after looking at it. Then I purchased a cork one from Summit Racing. I think I will use the cork.
Perhaps it just me, but it looks as if those rubber ones would not adapt themselves to the surfaces as well as cork would.
FWIW, my rocker arm covers were leaking when I got the car and found that someone uses some high end FelPro rubber gaskets to seal them but they were leaking like crazy. I replaced those with FelPro cork gaskets and so far so good.
Next time I change my tranny gasket, I think I will go with the cork one. Between the gasket, new fluid and time spent under the car changing that thing I am really gettting fed up with it and it is getting expensive. Let me know how the cork one works.
I just cleaned up my intake and adjusted the valves, changed the valve cover gaskets to rubber. We will see how they go.
