I see Delphi has come out with a new power steering box that the Nascar boys like and use very often. It is supposed to use a rack and pinion style servo to get rid of the slop that can be found in other factory recirculating ball setups. At 12:1 ratio this comes out to 2 1/2 turns lock to lock, which is very good. The housing is made of aluminum alloy so it is a little lighter and stronger then the original steering box. I was seeing if any forum members have installed this setup yet? I should give the aftermarket steering setups a good run for their money. The original steering setup was very good in the older C3s. This steering box should move the factory stock steering into the 21st century, houstonvett
This box is the basis of the Borgeson conversion. If you search for "jeep steering" you will get much more info. This box is sourced from 1998 to 2002 (?) jeep grand cherokees. Toms Corvette Steering also supplies a kit for this conversion
I installed the borgeson/delphi 600 unit this spring and love it! I believe it is a major improvement for street and cruising. It is pretty sensitive at high speeds and has some oversteer. If your auto crossing or anything you may not like it. But for general street cruising and country road fun like I do, I highly recommend it! The price was right as well and install was straight forward.

You can eliminate this sensitivity by adjusting you alignment to 4.5 to 5 degrees of caster (from the stock 1.5 to 2.5 degrees). The car will also track much better. To accomplish this change you will need either afternarket uooer A-arms, or slot the cross shafts in your stock A- arms

Hmm, I'm glad you posted this because i have the borgeson sitting in my shop waiting to be installed. Any leads on a fairly priced set of upper control arms. Most I have seen have been in the $500 + range.
Any pirctures of what needs to be slotted in the cross shafts of the stock A-Arms? I'm not following you here.
Vette Brakes & Products price for their tublar offset A-Arms is $340.
If you are going to slot your existing cress-shafts you must pull your upper A- Arms and elongate the 2 holes where the cross -shaft mounts to the frame. The material removed should be from the front portion of the holes, which will allow the cross-shaft/A-Arm to slide towards the rear of the car when remounted to the frame.
