Default Colour wiring diagram?

Some years ago there was a few posts about the various colour wiring diagrams that were available at the time but now, Im having trouble finding the posts.

Im looking for a colour wiring diagram for my 1979 vette as bubba has been in to the wiring big time and Im having trouble following the black and white diagrams I have.

Any one recommend a good colour, preferably laminated diagram? IIRC there was a forum member selling them but that was a good few years ago. Some of the other ones I saw for sale were original b+w diagrams coloured in....

Cheers.

I got a VERY nice one from Don Olson (Olson Engineering??) - you should be able to find a past thread for reference.

Do have a shop manual ? The troubleshooting guide once you get used to it is pretty good.

The 79' shop manual is VERY good. Lots of info and trouble shooting charts. Here's a 78 diagram which is very good and except for the fuse box, should be useful for your 79'

Wow, that is an awesome link. Do you have one for a 68 like that?

Thanks for the link. I found it before but disregarded it as it was for a 78.
Looking, I see there is very little difference between a 78 and 79 so will use it as a guide. Many thanks.

No, the 78' is the only one I've seen like this. It came as a suppliment to the GM shop manual.

Gary the 77 and 78 were both separate books from the shop manual but in the back of the 79,80,81 and 82 manuals is the same diagrams. They are nice for troubleshooting (once you get used to using them).

Jotto as I said earlier these are nice but you have to get used to them.
Here is an example in the Air conditioning / heater blower. Find the high speed blower relay and you will see the relay shows up in 2 separate places in the diagram. They actually split the relay in 2 to show how it works. If your familiar with your car you know there is no 2nd relay and you wont go looking for a 2nd relay. There are many areas that show up like this but once you get used to it the diagrams are very helpful.

I'll send Don a note saying that you're looking for a '79 diagram.

Right you are, just checked the 79' Shop Manual and they are in there. I bought a cheap B/W reprint of the GM manual to use on my 78' as it is much better than the multi model 78' one.

Yes, they are in full colour. Don was selling some at our Carlisle spots this year, I brought home one for my '73. Great product.
