Default Front Suspension Rebuild

I'm going to rebuild the front suspension on my 69 this fall/winter. I would like to have your opinions on going with Van Steel or VBP. I read an old post about problems with ball joints in the VBP kits. Does anyone know if this has been corrected? I'm doing a full rebuild and thinking of going with the tubular A-arms if you have experience with these parts you input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I have used the tubular a-arms and they are fine. AS for the "problems" in the ball joints...I do not know if this problem has been corrected. I installed many kits that customers have supplied lately...and have not found any problems with them...when the customer comes back for other service work ...and I inspect them. I instruct my customer that IF ANY issues with handling or steering occur...notify me immediately...and so far...I have not gotten any calls.

I installed the performance plus system on my '79 from VBP and upgraded to the upper tubular control arms w/Aluminum Cross Shaft. I purchased the system during the period you mentioned. I also upgraded to the moog ball joints. I think I remember reading here that VBP corrected the problem with the ball joints.

They are very easy to deal with as I'm sure Van Steel is. Just ask them what type or brand they are currently using.

I appreciate the information. I'm leaning toward the VBP kit since it is the most complete kit I have seen.

Thanks again,

Jim
