Got the stereo in and wondering. How does one utilize the RCA jack in the rear.
I want
1. 2 front speakers
2. 2 Rear speakers
3. Sub: Self Powered or not
thanks'
The RCA's output =low voltage. This signal requires a separate amp or powered speaker/sub. I would use the front and rear speaker out on the radio for your main F/R speakers and then, cable the left side RCA to a powered sub if you want a sub.
BTW, not wanting to rain on your party, but I have a KHE 200 and I am not impressed! the multi-function potentiometer is junk and shorts the balance and tone circuits anytime I touch the ****. POS! Next time the dash come out it's gone!
There are 4x6 plate speakers w/ mid. & tweeter. Some 5.25 can be fitted to kick panel location behind factory panels. A mounting plate should be used to separate the front from back sound waves to prevent cancellation for better bass.
If you are going to run a sub, then consider something like 5.25-6.5 in back instead of 6x9.
Will look at the smaller ones in the rear as you suggested. Should I just wire the two front and rear speakers through the speaker wiring from the head unit and then run the sub through the rca jack?
Does the RCA jack divert all of the sound through the sub or better question is what signal travels through that rca jack out
Yes, you could run the speakers from the head unit & an amped sub. as the low freq. take more power.
A stereo has a preamp. that raises the signal level enough to send to an amp. so the RCA outs are a connection to preamp. sometimes called line out. So it's a connection & does not divert all the sound.
Some amps. have speaker level inputs.
Component speakers are rec. for best sound- no coaxials or ovals.
