Default Intake leak time frame & advice

i have been chasing the ol' (what i think anyways) rear intake leak on the passenger side. Its definately oil and its around the bottom rear of the head. It glistens, its wet but does not drip. I can wipe it away and after a couple days of driving its back. i think i can feel oil up around the rear and its hard to actually see up in there.

anyways its october here in NY now. what would you guys suggest as a time frame for doing the intake and valve cover gasket job? would you guys start it now or wait until spring? i have a ghetto garage (no heat and no lights) weekend job as i work from 7-4 everyday.

also-- CONFUSED BOUT THIS. is the intake pressurized enough to allow oil to leak in the back like that? from research i know it isnt a head leak

If you are getting oil from the back of the intake I would guess it would be from the seal on the back of the manifold. It is not pressurized in that area but if it is coming from that area is is from splash lubrication. I would check the valve cover gasket first because the oil up into your heads while the engine is running is probably flowing from the back of the valve cover. Your question about gasket changing time to change both the intake manifold and valve cover gaskets can be done in just a nice afternoon. Only hard part is making sure the distributor goes back in the same tooth that is came out of so you dont have to find #1 cylinder again.

i had a leak like that in '95. i just squeezed some RTV along the edge, like half a tube and it hasn't leaked a drop since
