Default sripped header bolt

I was putting on new headers today, all was well until one of the header bolts stripped on me. I'm not sure what to do now, any help would be appreciated.
thanks

You can go to most auto parts stores and get a heli-coil thread repair kit. You have to drill and tap the hole for a larger thread size, install the heli-coil insert, and the inside thread size of the insert will be correct for your bolt. The cast iron is soft and easy drill and tap. Depending on which hole you srtipped, you may or may not be able to do this on the car because you have to be able to fit the drill in there.. If it's one you can't get to, you might be able to try a little longer bolt if the threads are not completely gone all the way in. Good luck.

How long is the header bolt? Some bolts that come with the headers are very short, only gabbing a couple of threads. If the head is originally tapped deep you may be able to get by with a longer header bolt or a stud on that hole.

It was the second bolt from the front on the passinger side, I will try a longer bolt if I can get it to clear the header pipe, thanks for the advice.I am a bit releaved that all is not lost. I do think I can get a drill in that spot so I have that option open too, I hope.
Thanks again.

Pete79L82 makes a good point.
I would run a tap down the hole before trying the longer bolt/stud.
Sometimes the bolt strips and only mildly damages the threads in the hole.

you could try running a metric tap in the hole , as long as metric bolt will fit the header . just a thought.
