Installed a set AC Delco Rapidfires today and WOW what a difference. Well worth the money and effort. Anytime I can do something that I can feel a power increase I get real fired up.

You can get them at WalMart. Nice thing is they are now platinum also. Best of everything.

.060 sure is wide. Sure you need to go that wide. DUI advised maybe going up to .055 max with their hot coil and module. .050 without much question.

Mine are AC Delco Rapidfires #2. The part number is simple AC#2 I have the 350 and the .045 gap is correct so no neep to regap plugs. Mine cost 34.32 at NAPA. I just installed them two days ago and work great. :D

Does anyone happen to know if the 'platinum' Rapid Fire replaced the original ones? All I've seen lately are the platinum ones. The packaging on the twin-packs say platinum, but the ones that are packed 8 per box don't (they both have the same small center electrode and same plug number).

I emailed Delco about the platinum vs. non-platinum. Told that they went to all platinum about a year ago. Did not say anything about the packaging difference though. I would buy the package marked platinum just to be safe.

What's the difference between #2 and # 3? One hotter/colder than the other?

You say you felt a difference, so I was wondering how old/what condition the old plugs were in???

Although if they are 1/4" shorter I will probably get them anyway(need the header clearance)

I believe the #2's are a colder plug as I was told to use them for my new high compression heads, wish more companies would adopt a similar way of identiifying thier parts. Very simple :D

Someone asked what condition were my old plugs, well they looked very good. All plugs except 7 & 8 were clean with a light tan or grey look. 7 & 8 were slightly carboned up. Old plugs were 1 year old. One of things that I think help performance is that the Rapidfires are longer on the part inside the motor than the standard Ac plug. Maybe this gets the fire to a better location that the stock plug. My motor runs real good all the time. I could feel inprovement on these plugs. They are worth the money.
