Default head porting

I doubt i could come up with a darion morgan but who are known to be some of the best head porters to take a head to ?

I also wonder what it would cost if you were happy with a heads exhaust flow but would like improvement on just the intake side ?

I would like to call some people check into it just don't know who would be some of the better people to call.

I get to meet allot of engine professionals because of my job working on race cars.

I have ask how much to port heads and in man hours 10-20 hours might gain you 20-30 cfm. If you are talking about raising the ports and welding the sky is the limit.

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to go is the factory CNC porting for about $600 over the base price. Like AFRs Race ready to Full competition job. I had my original Dart Pro One 215cc heads done by Dart with 2.08/1.625 valves. later on they thought what they had done was such a good idea that they started marketing the hot rodded 227cc.

I would not waste the money on existing heads. I'd refresh them and sell them at a loss and just buy some 10-18 degree heads and matching intake that really does flow in the mid 300 CFM's

We are on the same page I'm still interested in buying brodix raised runner 18X heads even though its not the best I could pick on airflow,
it can be bought with as low as 325/211 ( cast, standard exhaust spread ) airflow to as high as 336/250 airflow (CNC) with spread exhaust, $1500.00 to $1950.00 bare head cost. There is no doubt
the CNC for roughly $450.00 is worth it. My problem if I go to a 15 degree head it locks me into offset lifters, roller cam, shaft system.
The solid roller makes more power but I'm not the fan of them you are
the 18 X can be run with flat tappits, standard 23 degree rocker
arms. I was kind of thinking for the $1500.00 price you can get
a spread exhaust that still flows 237, 325 on the intake. If I could get someone that truly knows what there doing on the intake side I would like to have more like 350/360. Guess I will first call brodix see if they can do better on the intake or if there is room for improvement.
I'm not interested in what the engine can do at low revs not wanting to build it for that.

Dart actually made 18 degree heads with standard small block exhaust locations. Because of the larger 2.15 intakes valves they repositioned the intake over about 1/4 inch requiring offset rockers and or lifters.

The brodix 18X has an oddball size 2.14 intake valve.

I can buy 15 degree heads in the same price range if I talk myself into a solid roller this is what I will do.

There is a company in austrailia I have been checking into, they have a good reputation they have there own foundry, its not some chinese foundry, head machined somewhere else.

They have a 15 degree head USD $1695.00 shipping included. its made in a 226cc version 2.15 intake vave 345 airflow, and a 254cc version 362/280 airflow. 2.18 intake valve, looks to have the option of a 2.20 intake valve.

If you have any interest here is there web site www.racerpro.com.au

Liars lie and cheaters cheat who knows if any head really flows like they say it will.
