Default indicators not disengaging

I don't know if this is normal, but on my 80 vette when I make a regular right or left hand turn my indicator signal switch will not disengage, it's as if a normal turn in traffic is not sharp enough. The reason I say this is that if I crank the wheel in a sharp turn like a u turn or turn in a parking lot they disengage fine. If I put them on and turn the wheel all the way one way or the other they diengage (this was for test purposes), anyone have this problem or know a solution?

Yes I have this problem sometimes on my 1980 Vette, but no I don't have an answer to fix it. What's worse is that my left turn signal dash light is currently out, and last week I found myself driving down I-24 for about 25 miles with my blinker on.

Jim Shea should chime in on this. I don't think you can get your canceling cam in 180 off. But I think you can get the shaft off 180 at the rag joint and then put the steering wheel on 180 off to compensate. Better wait for Jim.

Sure could on my 77.

My shaft was good.

By Cancel Cam do you mean the cam that is integrated in or under the steering wheel itself?

Yes it is in the center of the turn signal switch and bumps the 2 canceling springs.
