Default Was this a mistake?

I'm in the early stages of a frame off rebuild on my 73, and I just removed the front bumper structure. When I did this the whole front of the car (fiberglass fenders) flexed upward about an inch. I know that when everything was attached, the body probably had tension on it, but it just caught me off guard. Is this to be expected? I am planning on leaving the radiator support in place for the lift to keep the front end stabilized, is this a good idea, or should I remove it to cut the weight?

Here is a link to my progress so far:

I would leave the radiator support in place. It weighs almost nothing and provides structural strength to the front clip. Make sure you brace the front clip somehow while the body is on a dolly. There is nothing to support the front clip but the bonding adhesive at the firewall.
