Working through a resto on a 77 coupe, looking at the seat belts, mine was fitted with the dual reactor type, has anyone changed these over to the single reactor? the single is cheaper to buy (alot cheaper) and with less moving parts, proberbly the better option.
Anyone do this conversion? or anyone with knowledge see obvious downfalls and/or physical changes to the chassis/body to convert over?

WEV,
I put in 2000 Camero rear belts in my 74 coupe, and used the front
recivers. Worked out great. glassman74
On my 76, I put the single retractors new seat belts from Corvette Central or Mid America, about $300 new. Originally I had a retractor under the seat and one in the back. They supplied a special bolt to install the back retractor on the passenger side, since I think they did not supply a different righthand and left hand retractor, works great and looks original. No chassis modifications and appears to be a good design.

Thanks for the responces, which ever option/manufacturers belt i use i will prob have to source from the US (im in the UK), if i could stick to a Vette model it would be easier for me i think as i dont have the luxury of being able to view/test the item and returning the item is very costly.
Wev, those look like they will work to me. They are almost identical to the 2001 Firebird rear belts I put in my '74. If you are OK spending the extra money they look good. One thing to consider is that you will need hardware to mount them if you do not have it currently. The set you picked out appears to have the dogbones installed but I doubt it comes with the shoulder bolts. Pretty much any shoulder bolt should work, but I used the ones that came with my trans am set to be sure they were of high enough Grade. I believe they were Grade 5, or your Class 10.9 in the UK.
