Terrible 0-60 times
I shifted @4200 rpm, but I am not sure if I'd get that much more acceleration shifting any higher.

I think that you're shifting too early. My car runs to 5500 RPM for an auto shift so I don't bother to manually shift it.
Do you still have a catalitic convertor? They get plugged with age. Check for kinks in the exhaust. Do you know what your full advanced timing is?
Take all of my advice with the knowledge that my car has more speed parts but no more speed! I'll post my changes as they happen.
1. Apply full throttle while holding the car with the brakes. You might have to practice a few times to get the launch down right, but you want to be able to leave under full power.
2. Shift at 5500 rpm. You might have to manually hold the shifts if your transmission is not calibrated properly.
These two should help drop that time.
