Replacing stock hei distributor with msd 8365 question
SECTION, BUT HAD NO LUCK. BRIEFLY, I PICKED UP MY FIRST CORVETTE,
A 1975 COUPE WITH 45,000 ORIGINAL MILES. I REBUILT THE CALIPERS,
ADDED NEW PADS, REFURBISHED THE PARKING BRAKE WITH STAINLESS
STEEL HARDWARE, REMOVED BOTH ROTTEN BUMPER COVERS, ETC.....
NOW, I plan to lose the cat, add dual exhausts to the stock manifold,
service the tranny, tweak the ignition, add new bumper covers, and get
her painted the original factory yellow and then,,.... Enjoy Her!!!
Here's my question, I read one post that suggested a good aftermarket HEI distributor, a msd ignition, and a msd coil would go a
long way in the performance department. Can I just change my stock
distributor to the MSD HEI 8365 distributor, tweak the timing, adjust
the carburetor and be done with it. I am looking for better response, and a little more power without having to dig too deeply in the pocket department. I would like to appear as stock as possible.
I appreciate any good ideas. Thanks, 10cal
and brackets for the front. I have already picked up an aftermarket rear fiberglass bumper
for the rear and it fits great. If I use fiberglass for the front, do I keep all existing brackets
etc... I saw a fiberglass front bumper in a body shop and the fit was terrible Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
Thanks,
