I was thinking about buying that kit until I thought how do you close the hood. For me I drop the hood from about 3-4 inches and it closes perfectly every time.
If you have the hydraulic support with pressure in it do you have to push the hood down one side at time ?

Nope. Just drop the hood down like you would normally do. It's a great kit, easy to install, and functions well.
I'm not sure what you are wanting to know. It works the same way any other hydraulic lift works. For instance, my daily driver has a rear hatch that uses hydraulic lifts. I open the hatch, and the lifts hold it open. When I want to close the hatch, I just exert some pressure, which changes the angle of the hydraulics allowing it to close.

If I install this unit from Speed Direct can I drop my hood closed from 3-4" no pressure exerted, as in, it closes under it own weight like it has for 30 years or will the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder prevent me from doing this ?

Yes, you can drop the hood from 3-4" with no pressure exerted. The only pressure you need to exert is when the hydraulic cylinder is at full extension, which is when the hood is fully open. Once you break the angle at which it holds the hood open, the hood drops down like it has always done with the old mechanism.
