Chuckie, 488 tells me you into dragracing...fine, but those entire rear assy's are not as strong as the earlier iron ones'.....Isuspect you can/will break a housing or two, maybe even a mounting strut....
I think you need either go to an earlier style rear, or do a tub out solid axel....488 is unstreetable, basically....

Randy's Ring and Pinion-they've got them. I talked to one of the guys and they have up to a 5.36 (5.38 I can't remember). I know they have them for the drop out iron setup's, I'm not sure if they'd have them for the later ones, biut I'd give them a shot. Good luck

im not into drag racing necessarily, but with the double overdrive 6 speed on the way, i can run 4.88 gears and still cruise at about 2200 at 70mph. I would love the low end punch and the tire tearing that comes with the 4.88 gears. 79Corvette02, do you have a link or a phone #?
