again I am hoppy to go with something else if need it, but I will use a ROCHESTER Quadrajet so the intake has to fit under 1980 hood with Rochester bolt patern and if possible would like to reuse my original 1980 Twin intake Air cleaner. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....0g~Z5Z5Z5GAXHN

The edl performer is a major limitation. Find out if it is close to your head side ports

Guessed on CR at 9.5. No comment on the combo.

Pretty nice numbers for those puny heads. Your combo has well matched components for your intended use. The intake operating range is idle to 5500, Cam 2000 to 5800, 180 heads probably run out of breath @ 5500 but have good velocity for low and midrange power, the 530 lift helps the small port heads breath a little better in your operating range, the duration will get your DCR right for the 10 to 1 compression on pump fuel and the 112 LSA will flatten the torque curve (raises the ends up drops the peak a little) as you can see in the dyno projection.
Your trans should handle it fine. Your rear end probably won't take a lot of hard shifts.
I would really like to see a DD on this same combo with a set of AFR 195 eliminators and a RPM intake. You would be replacing your rear end sooner though.

Congrats Paul!

Mako thats a cool toy you got there, I dont know anything about it. A thought came to mind though, with all the talk and myths over the years about factory ratings in the 60's-70's... underrated for insurance or overrated for advertisment, and a couple others.... what would your desktop dyno say about it if you fed in factory stock info into it compared to what the car makers claimed? May be a dumb question but it wont be my first.. or last.

MY toy, thank you

I built DD's for virtually all the Chevy factory muscle engines and they come out very close to the actual power numbers from tests in the rags at the time.

oh my bad Billla.. So your results compare closely with what the mags say.. so how do both compare to what the factory was saying? I have just heard so many times "oh the factory rating was 330hp but back then they underated them all the time, it was closer to 375hp" is all that stuff BS?

this is an over inflated wishful thinking build. Strike number one is the intake manifold. If it is rated for up to 5500 rpm on a 350 ci, that makes it sub 5000 rpm on a 383 ci. But from my personal dyno experience that Edl. performer manifold is not a performance item. would not recommend them to anybody. Second problem is the lack luster heads with a CFM rated on a 4.200 bore. They rate them to support 325 hp. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RHS® Pro Action™ 180cc cylinder heads are the perfect bolt on head for smaller-displacement Small Block Chevrolet engines. Ideal for 262 to 350 CID street engines, Pro Action™ 180cc cylinder heads are the hot ticket to making up to 325+ flywheel horsepower. With superb finished quality and a long list of desirable standard features -including top-quality COMP Cams® components in fully assembled models, Pro Action™ 180cc cylinder heads deliver maximum value for your performance dollar.

Thought you were going to run the 7104 rpm manifold with your Q-jet you want to run and you had concluded it would fit under your 80 hood, motorhead has a victor JR under his 80 hood, I would have to bet the rpm will go under your hood.

Yes I will be running Performer RPM with Q-jet.

I would love to see how the RPM would work with this combo, but this is good enough for me.

Just happy to get any dyno projections to see how the parts will work together.

Again, THANK YOU Bill
