Default 1976 'Early' Air Conditioning

Hi all,

I am now near completing an inventory of all the brackets and accessories mounts that we have had collected over 16 years of ownership of our 1976, L-82 4 speed Corvette. We had just bought a 350/290 GM crate engine and have notice a lack of parts.

We had bought the car as a roller 16 years ago and only have searched back in the memory bank last week to do a "inventory count" of the car's support systems. The car had A/C and P/S and P/B. I have some brackets. I wish in this post to address the A/C for now and then move onto the P/S and Alt. and Brakes at a later date.

I kindly ask for a vendor/member for a A/C mount as known in the GM parts manual as Support rear, section 9.171, Part # 351688, (long compressor). This is the side mounting bracket that sits against the the right ram horn manifold forward by the securing bolts securing the front adjustible bracket and rear mounting bracket and holes for the A/C compressor.

Corvette America sells every bracket but this one. I wish to purchase the parts to replace/ reconfigure the A/C to R134 for current compliance.

All comments are appreciated to determine If I can replentish/restore this bracket for the original A/C or other options.

When I got my project car everything under the hood was in milk crates, of course I had several missing pieces when time came to reassemble. Wilcox was able to round up everything I was missing and got me all back together pretty quickly. A couple pieces were only available in high dollar versions but I got most in less expensive lines/brands. Call them for assistance, they are very helpfull and just because you cant find it on thier website dont mean anything, they seem to be able to track down just about anything. Good luck!
