Windshield trim removal
I am preparing my 81 for paint, and would like to remove the metal trim that surrounds the front and rear windshields so that I can do a good sanding job. Can this be removed without having to redo the seals in the windshield. If so, a method would be helpful. Thanks

I puchased the tool at Advance auto.
There is a trick too it though, so you don't break the plastic trim clips.
Patience is a must.

It's hard to describe.
A cross section view of how the clip fits inside the trim would be helpful.
You carefully slide the pioint of the tool under the the trim on either side of the clip, all the way to the outside edge of the trim. Then slide it over to the clip, and gently push the tip of the tool between the outside edge of the trim and the clip, till the trim pops up. Start in the middle of the trim piece and work towards the ends.
