dash harness

can any one tell me if the dash harness goes in front out the steering column or behind the mounting brackets near the firewall
i pic would be great

Are you asking about inside under the dash or inside the engine bay?

under the dash i have been trying to install the spedo and tac for over a month
i think the harness is stoping me

This is for a 69 and is in position. If you have a vert make sure the speedo cable goes over the support like the pic.

Not sure if it will help, but I've got some pics of my 71 teardown here. I'm not looking forward to having to put all that wiring back togheter!

Check the AIM. For some years, the main dash harness routes above the speedo and tach and clips to the backside of the dash pad to keep it up and out of the way of the under dash braces.

You know you've got it wrong if the harness bumps the braces and will not allow the dash pad to fit properly.

I learned that the hard way.

thanks stop on the way home and got a 12 pack from the pic's i had it wrong
and missing a brace. hard to put somthing together that i did not take apart.lol

watch that steering column mount, it is cast rough edges, your wires can easily rub on them,
which would be a very bad thing. !
Either grind them smooth, or split some tubing and install over the sharp edges.
