you can test/adjust it by removing the passenger side panel of the center shift console ......you can test it by using a test light that is grounded and the probe end on the side of the switch on the terminals (passenger side) the rear terminals are the reverse lights and the forward terminals are the safety switch portion......so if the lights light upon both terminals top and bottom you are good to go and the switch is closing .....if it lights up on one terminal and not the terminal above then the switch is "open", the switch is closed when the probe lights up on both sides......do the test with the reverse lights and you will see how it works then apply this logic to the front terminals
