Default Rear shoks

A question for the suspension experts:
As a fibreglass rear spring has less internal(?) friction than a normal steel leaf spring, would different rear shocks be required?
TIA
Paul

Paul, yes you must use a faster reacting shock or you'll have a harsh ride. I have KYB with mine. Rick

I'm far from being an expert, but what I do know, is that Glass springs have a faster rebound than steel, so your shock has to hav4e a faster rebound. Or you'll bounce down the road like a Tigger..Whinny The Pooh style!

Hi, Paul! :seeya
We both know I'm no "suspension expert" but can I reply anyway? :D

When I got all my suspension rebuild stuff from Vette Brakes, they matched a set of Bilstein Sport gas shocks with their composite 360 lb/in monospring. The VB part number is B46-0232. The fronts were B36-0222. They're $70/each.

Just my $.02! (I still owe you an e-mail!) :bb

Yes, match the shock to the glass spring. I bought the silver GR-2 KYB front and reaer shocks from VB&P that are valved special for a glass spring. They were affordable and work well.

Hi Paul,

I would recommend KONI or Bilstein Gas shocks.
They work very well in the applications I know so far.

Hi everybody,
Thanks for the replies. I thought that was the case, but rather than going on a hunch I thought I'd ask the experts
Hi Gator, no rush for the email - I've decided to junk my aircon (mainly because the time taken to clean it all up/fix it, added to the time to do everything else would mean I'd be back on the road just after the summer ends! Thanks for the part nos.
Frank: Got any idea of the Koni part number? The Koni distributer for the UK is about 2 miles from me (& my mate gets trade discount :D ). I've got Koni shoks on my Bike & they are far better than any other types that I've tried. Really impressed with them :)
Thanks,
Paul
