r4 compressor to sanden
i have been through a few R4,s and they always seem rattly, leak gas, take up too much load, just junk really.
The Sanden (& my current ND) use a #10 fitting for low & our units use a #12 hose so it's just a matter of using the correct fitting for custom hoses.I replaced the R4 compressor with a ND 6P (8.2 C.I. & similiar to Sanden 508) which uses less HP & works great. Compressor, custom brackets & hoses to stock A/C system w/ R12.

Compressor just needs the pos. lead.
R134
Some factory systems were converted from R-12 to R-134 by only 1 mech. change- reducing the orifice tube size so if you go to R134 a smaller orifice tube is rec.
PS M-B also used the R4.
