door Jamb ground?

door Jamb ground?

On a 77, does the door jamb switch act as it's own ground. Every time I open the door the fuse blows. From what I can tell, when I open the door the switch grounds itself to the bird cage. Is it suppose to do that?

That's for the reply. That's what I thought. now i need to figure out why it pops the fuse. I've got a short somewhere.

Pull all the bulbs out and see if that stops the fuse from blowing. Check inside the sockets it sounds like the white is touching the power wire.

Switch activates interior lights of course but also activates alarm system and if it has a light that illuminates the spare tire area like on my late model '77. Good luck, mds...
