Default Power window regulator broken. Help please?

Hi All,

I have a problem with my 1977 coupe. I believe the power window regulator mount bracket is broken off on my driver side window. Now the window is stuck down and I cannot roll the power window back up. I am not sure how to fix it since I can't get to the regulator attachment points because the window is in the way.

I have purchased new power window regulators for both sides, glass track rebuild kits etc. but am just not sure how to get it installed on the driver side. Can anyone help?

Thanks...

If this is the part that is broken then when you get the door panel off you should be able to move the window regulator in or out to get past whatever it is stuck on.

Yes Petes74Ttop,

That indeed does look like the broken part. So you are saying I can pull or push the regulator past whatever it's stuck on and then lift the window up high enough so I can get to the regulator attachment bolts etc. Is that correct? I was afraid that I might break the window if I pulled or pushed on the regulator. I will give it a try...

Thanks

You're lucky your mount bracket has bolts. On the 68 it is spot welded in place. Good luck.

Use the switch to move the window full down, then push the part of the regulator where the bracket broke towards the door skin or try to pull the regulator towards you and hit the up button. Push out or in not up, and be careful where you put you fingers. My guess is that when the bracket broke the regulator shifted and is hung up on something inside the door.
