Replacing tank sender unit/from top?
Hi all,
My 79 Corvette needs to have the tank sending unit replaced but I want to know if it is possible to replace it from the top of the tank through the filler door?
After taking the door and rubber sleve out, the diameter of the open door looks big enough to angle the unit out of the tank instead of dropping the tank to replace the unit.
Has anyone tried to do this before?

It will come out from the top on my 79, as you pull it out, rotate it around to remove and reverse to install. Don't forget to install the rubber gasket.
