Default Lowering the front suspension???

Who sells front springs that will allow for a 2 inch lowering of the front end on my ’82? I cut 1 ½ coils, it looks great and it rides like hell!

Sounds like you're half way there. Did you re-install the springs properly in the upper a-arms? Not sure what your definition of "rides like hell" is. Care to provide details? ie: darty steering, steering wander, etc.

When you cut that much coil out it's a good idea to go to the alignment shop for a re-alignment. I'd check that before replacing with new coils.

i agree with dannyman. 1 1/2 coils is a lot to cut off. i think that the front end would be lowered more than 2" with that much removed. make sure that the springs are fully seated in the pockets. the pockets are tapered, and if you just happen to seat the cut end of the spring on the "high" point of the pocket, of if the spring isn't seated fully, the ride height will be different from what you want.

Default Help with lowering the front end!!!

Dose anyone sell after market front springs??
After lowering the front end (I cut 1 ½ coils) I had it aligned and it steers straight. But the ride is very harsh.

Most F41 springs lower the car 1 inch. You can cut coils from there. I have trouble getting over speed bumps with my F41. The scatter shield hits. Good luck with a 2” drop,. Is the car for racing?

The car may handle like hell until you get rid of the bump steer and experiment with alignment settings.

Since most 78/79's have a tendency to sag or look like they sag in the rear, I managed an overall reduction of about 3 inches in the front by the following:

1. 550lb replacement F-41 springs from Mid America that were 1 inch shorter than stock.
2. 255/45/17 tires in front and 255/50/17's in the rear-another 1 inch reduction.
3. 360 LB fiberglass rear spring with Bilstein Sports in the rear-another inch differential versus the stock steel spring.
