Those cranks come through with a target bob weight of 1900 grams and do a search on Sir rods as we had a set in the shop last month a customer brought in and I took one loosed the bolts and retorqued the bolts to specs and the rod was .0012 out of rod, The custome said it would be fine Long story short the engine did not last a week and it was knocking. And I only checked one rod.

It did not say anything about the rods being sized on both ends or the pin bores on the pistons being pin fit either.

Your not the first one to burned by these budget kits as I have seen and got calls about this stuff all the time.

For about 1900.00 dollars you could have bought a Callies set up with Callies compstar 4340 crank, Compstar 6 inch I beam rods and Mahle pistons and file fit rings and rods and main bearings and balanced. There are a lot of good deals on nonbudget rotators.

Even these kit both ends of the rods need to sized and the Mahle pistons useally don't have to touch the pin bores in the pistons.

My brand new $700 4340 H beam stroker rods had to be resized right out of the box as the big end was egg shaped. So I would be checking $200 SIR rods for sure. Lots of things that just never get checked or done result in engine failures

You are going to have to pull the motor and take a new steel ( I wouldn't use the aluminum try and sell it ) flywheel and the flexplate that came with the kit to shop that knows how to match the balance on the flexplate to the flywheel and take a chance.

Still better than taking the motor apart and not much difference than dropping the tranny, that's a pain the azz too.

Make sure you take it with the flexplate to a good machine shop. If they know how to match the balance it is not expensive at all, ask blockman shouldn't be more than 50 bucks

We charge 35 dollars to balance flywheel and pressure and it maybe just in the pressure plate, If you can start it up with the pressure plate off and see if it still has a vibration. That might be a good place to start.

We have seen the NAPA power brute kits off a lot one was off 48 grams.

Good luck
