Pulling the engine this winter and figure this is a good time to replace the engine wiring harness. Ordered a new one from Ecklers (Lectric Limited) and got it today. Just looking at it, it looks a little intimidating nor does anything look familiar.
I had a few questions:
1) Anyone have a engine wiring harness diagram? LL / Ecklers do not include one.
2) I have an HEI dist set-up. Any recommendations on the alterations to make work?
3) I have a modern starter so same question as above.
Like most of you, my engine bay is a collection of old / new and random wiring so I am trying to figure this out.
Thanks
Shane

Vendors here sell a full exploded diagram that is plastic coated.
As for the engine harness it was easy even with the engine still installed. I just laid the new harness out then unplugged the old harness at the firewall. Next i disconnected 1 old connector at a time and plugged in the same for the new harness connector.
My advice is to replace the AC harness (if u have one) while u have the dash and heater ducting out (if u take those out to). The AC harness come out the firewall in a different place (more on the pass side). This may not apply to your project but if you do go there u will be happy when its done rather then take that heater box out again. I will never foget now that the AC harness doesn't plug into the engine harness.
