Default cup holder that works?

I am looking for a cup holder for my 80 vette. This is my daily driver and I drive ~100 miles a day. I am tired of spilling my drink on my lap or in the passenger floor board. What cup holder that will fit the average starbucks or big drinks from sonic without spilling if you take a quick turn or have a little fun?

I have seen these two from ecklers... HERE and HERE

To me I want one that is convenient and practical for my purpose

Open to suggestions...

I have the one in that first link, it's ok for a can of soda, but it's not tall enough to keep a tall cup of coffee from falling over. The one in the second link looks like it is tall enough, but not very big around. I'd like to give it a try, but it's kinda pricey.

I have part 1... I like it, but it does get in the way sometimes when shifting... but the other would bug me being down by my legs, already not enough room there...

Do you have a passenger on your commute? If not, something like this that straps in the front seat may work - http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...ganizer-Black/

I have type 1 and it does not work for anything other that a can. I use the old style that fits over the door panel and into window channel. They are only $1 at WalMart.

I remember seeing post where a guy flipped his console cushion over, cut and glued a cupholder in it. I can't remember who it was...and most importantly if it worked very well.

I think C5's have cupholders built in. You must be thinking of the high-performance floor mat discussion.

I have the type in the first link and it works well....but i normally drink from soda cans. There is a removable ring if I wanted to drink from a mug with a handle but I never use that feature.

I often have a 32 oz big gulp cup in the first cup holder shown. I haven't had a big problem with it, and I've sure never spilled anything, or I would have thrown it out the window. I don't go crazy with a drink in it. Mine is a 4 spd, so the cup gets a little in the way, but if I'm doing any spirited driving, the cup holder is empty.

Gotta have something to drink. I drive almost 100 miles a day in my vette. Even if I owned a Zonda F I would still have a drink... Wonder if that has carbon fiber cup holders lol
