Starting to build my 71 and I'm trying to find anyone who has a set of adjustable upper contol arms.
I'm going with a semi coil-over setup in front(because I already have the shocks). Looking to get away from the shim type adjustment setup just to clean up the appearance.
If nothing is available I'll be going with either Global West arms or VBP arms.
You might want to give Marcus a call at SC&C. He's a real nice guy and very well respected in the "pro-touring" world. http://www.scandc.com/corvette.htm

I don't want to take this off topic but what were you using before? Don't you have VB&P mono set up front and rear? Is that the "tall" ball joint also? Sorry for all the questions but I know you track your car and just wanted your feedback. Thanks.

Yeah, I have the VB&P mono setup front & rear. I switched upper a-arms for the adjustability and for the longer ball joint (There is a black spacer in the picture between the ball joint boot and spindle that slips over the longer stud). I get about 1 degree additional camber change in the front compared to stock.
They do seam to give the car more grip in the front, so now I am working on the balance again. The car will oversteer some when pushed to its limit right now. Hasn't slowed me down, its just now the rear end grip is limiting me from cornering faster.
So, I'm now looking at putting on adjustable swaybars and maybe larger back tires for the track along with increasing the rear toe-in back to where I had it last year. It just never ends ....
Dont mean to throw this too off track but does anyone know:
Do you recommend the VBP upper control arms with the aluminum cross shafts?
The cost is almost the same as the steel cross shafts but I fear that since it is made with aluminum, they will break easily. Any one have opinions or first hand knowledge? Thanks!
Thats kinda what I was thinking + if you then add the shims between the frame and the crossshaft I'm thinking you'll get a bit more flex than a all steel shaft.
More for thought with the aluminum shaft, I doubt the alignment rack operator is going to care about that shaft being aluminum until after he's put the first deep gouge into it
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Have you ever seen the upper A arms on C4, it looks like one bump and they would break in half. Looks can be deceiving, it's all in the metals used and the engineering design
