Default Rear Spring Help

I am installing my rear spring and trailing arms in my 71 and I am having a hard time getting the link installed between the spring and trailing arm. I can the get the spring up far enough to get the bolt through the spring and tighten the nut. However link doesn't to line up correctly and is crooked. What am I missing? Does the spring have a left and right?

The spring bolts will have an angle to them. Jack up the trailing arms a bit to achieve a good angle to drop the bolt through, then put the nut on before you let it down

I agree with the above answer , raise the trailing arm keep everything loose, it should line up , if that does not work, install it on the trailing arm first them do the inside end. I used a centering punch to get it started, Ron

You can put a socket under the trailing arm between the trailing arm and the frame to keep the t/a in the air while connecting the spring. Here is how mine looks in the air:

You can see how the spring cushions/cups are sitting. hth
