56 vette mates with c5...
have you guys read the latest issue of motor trend?
there's an article about a concept "retrovette"
it's suppose to be a c5 & '56 hybrid...it has a '56 front end
and a c5 body :crazy:
don't have a scanner...and couldn't find a pic on their webpage,
so i stole a the pic of the cover of the mag...you can kinda see
it at the corner...maybe someone can scan a pic and post a better picture
of it
so what do you guys think of it?

Was on display at the last SEMA show in Vegas.....Very nice....seems the GM people are not interested in using this for any of their future designs.... :seeya Cappy

Sorry, but that is no '56 front, it is a 53-55 front.
Chevy is not going to build it but the company that came up with the concept is going to do a converson for about $30,000 above the price of a C5. Check it out at: http://www.aatcars.com/commemorative...n_corvette.htm

Not surprised that Chevy is not going to build it. They should not have bothered w/ the first ones, should have waited till they had an engine (V8) !

Besides throwing in a new C5 I thinkk the cost of the conversion swas something like $100k or more. Ouch!

I think it looks Fantastic..... If I had 80K to throw around, I'd buy it :yesnod:
For me, that would be the best of Both worlds... Vintage and high tech.....
wonder if a guy could find a C5 with a trashed nose and rear at salvage title prices ? :lol: Always thinking.....

Same idea but instead of fitting a C1 body to a C5 chassis, they fit C4/5 mechanicals into the C1.

I thought the car was originally a suggestion.... or a concept .... or whatever you want to call it the thought behind it was as a possible 50th anniversary vette, obviously bringing back some of the styling of the original 1953 model, white with red interior and many of the 53 styling cues. Personally, I dont care for it. MJ

I didn't particularly like it the first time I saw it, but it has started to grow on me. It does have a few problems, I just can't put my finger on them. Maybe they should have gone more retro or maybe less retro. It just looks unbalanced, it's either too much like a 53 or not enough, I just can't make up my mind.
