Obviously your mind is made up that 'Corvettes are junk' the same way that other people are convinced that 'Brit cars are junk'. What's the chances that either are going to listen?
I never said Vettes are Junk since I own one and love it. Just think there is room for improvment. Many people with differnt ideas and mind sets.I don't think I will do a conversion like this, but there is aleast one vette out there with such a conversion. I'm used to driving my toy for the summer the rebuild or fine tune during winter. Yet to have that happed with any vette I've had. With thousands spent in parts I hope to have a fun summer with my 81 if not it must go. I will not tolerate a problem child. Thanks for all your input or comments!
I also owned a very nice LOOKING 1985 Jag XJS V12. If you like dancing with the Prince of Darness then I would say go for it. You think rebuilding a Vette is expensive try on that V12 and just try to get some HP out of it. It will cost you more than the car itself. There is a reason why Jags have Chevy under the hood.
I would agree that if you want a rocket with luxury go with a Jag and a BBC or LSX. Then all you have to worry about working on is the electrical system with the multiple of relays.
Ever look to see what the Jag has for relays.
After installing the Chevy rip out ALL of the wiring and re wire the car with an after market kit.
Now you will have a fast, reliable, comfortable and stylish luxury sports car with a back seat.
You ever notice that when someone is trying to sell a Jag with a Chevy in it they advertise it as having a CORVETTE engine.
Don't understand, why ruin a perfectly fine car with a chevy engine! I thought of jag engined chevy just in spite. The jag engine uses longevity item like a timing chain tensioner to start with....
Jags are luxury cars not hot rods thats why i own a vette.
I apologise the the die hard Government Motors fans! Everyone has an opinion and may not agree so this is the end of me speaking in the post. Thanks!

Of course the C2/C3 suspension has room for improvement, but IMCO one should use up that room before discarding it altogether, and even then retrofitting later Corvette components would be preferable. Also, I'm not saying you don't know what you're doing, but regardless of the C2/C3 suspension's design shortcomings it has proven over the decades to be quite capable of extended service. My $.02
