I have a chance to get a set of Hooker Super Comp headers for my 76 for cheap....but they are from a 68 Camaro. Will they fit in my engine compartment? I need to let the seller know ASAP so he doesn't sell them to someone else. Can anyone help me here?
I don't know the answer, but you could go to Hooker or summit website and see if the 68 camaro and 76 vette take the same headers.
I did that, and they are DEFINITELY different part numbers.....which (logically) leads me to believe that they will not work. I just don't want to buy these...go through the effort of trying to get them to fit, and then get pissed because I spent time and money. The only reason I even considered these, is because they are only $50. The price was the only motivator here.
Oh and "Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive".
......................um................ ...................I think you lost me there. Did I miss something? What does that have to do with proper header selection?

So would any of you attempt to use them? It doesn't seem like there would be THAT much of a difference. I need to have a complete exhaust system built anyways, so that's not a big deal. Is there anything that you could think would interfere with the tubes??

This is mostly a guess like the other replies, but no they won't fit.
The two cars are completely different. The Camaro engine is mounted above the front axle and sits higher in the chassis. The Corvette engine is located behind the front axle and is mounted lower in the chassis. The ONLY similarity is the SBC in the engine room. Maybe if you do a lot of cutting and welding you can get them to fit.
