Default Max Compression on 87 octane

What is the maximum compression I can run on 87 octane with iron heads and optimum timing and quench with a cam around 210 deg of duration. I want to run 87 octane. can anyone help me?

That's a question more for the Engine Mods group...lots of techie stuff in it...

I've seen an 11:1 engine run 85 with no knocking, a car magazine built a 350 (347) out of a 400 block and some really wild peices and made 400+ HP on 85 octane. I'll look for the link.

Just depends on a lot of stuff that I don't understand yet... :smash:

no more than 9.5 to 1. Im getting away with 10.5 to 1 with high test and a comp cams XE268 which is about 224@.050. Full advance timing and I never heard ping whatsoever.
