I just traded my 1965 Ford Mustang coupe with an inline 6 for a 77 Corvette today. My mustang was in REALLY good shape and have enjoyed it. But I just wanted something different and went for this. I do not know much at all about the car really since I haven't had a chance to go over everything (at work now) but will have all weekend to play with it.
He did show me that once you lock the driver's side door it will not unlock unless I use this rod to push a lever behind the door panel. It runs good - only test drove it a little. About to head to lunch and drive it alot!
Hopefully I won't bug everyone with questions on here so much and will soon be able to answer some for others eventually.
Welcome to the forum!
The car looks like it is in good shape, but I would replace the plastic fuel filter with a metal one, no need to help a fire start.
Thanks for the tip! I'll pick one up next week. The car looks better in the pics than in person but it's not bad at all. I definately do not like the color but that will have to wail till spring. I need to look the car over really good and get the specs on everything such as the weber carb it has on it, etc. I didn't even try the headlights yet - hope they work!!
Welcome Warren . . . you have found the best forum in the world for C3 vettes. There are many helpful people here that can help you do ANYTHING on your car; just ask. Also, learn to use the advanced search function which can answer many of your questions. Your car looks good . . . have fun with it!!!
Welcome Warren to the forum, you will learn a lot here. As said already you should address the fuel line and filter. Your vette looks nice, have fun with her.
Nice car Warren!!! To fix the door lock problem; remove the inner door panel. (Nothing too hard, just a few screws.) When you get the door panel off, roll the window up. You can then reach in and reconnect the rod at the door lock. Very simple job. Good Luck with your new Vette.
Steve

Welcome to the forum. and remember, there are no questions too dumb here, we have all had 1 or 2 on the forum at one time or another, I am sure. good luck.
I like the question on which is faster - the mustang for the vette! Let's just say I could get home in half the time if I had wanted! It's about 12 miles from work to my house and I really got to drive it going home tonight. Then as I'm passing McDonalds I see my wife in the drive-thru in her Honda minivan with our 3 kids. I pulled up beside her revving the engine. Her face dropped! (meaning she liked it). Now she expects to drive it to work next week!!
I'll take some closer pics of it this weekend and put them online.
Oh no! She will claim it as her car....lol............
I let my wife drive my '81 and she likes it, but knows I will be extermely mad if somthing happens. So due to fear she won't drive it unless I'm in it. Vettes' are graet fun to drive, but and be very money hungry at times. I got my '81 in july and have put over $3500 in it in parts. It is a nice clean car to start with. Enjoy!
