6 miles one way most good days. We are in a blizzard right now, so it may be 2-3 weeks before it gets out of the garage.

i have been driving my 80 to work & back , to moms & back & to girlfriends & back & Toronto- Tobermory & back since Jan 30,2007.

last year my work transferred me to the extreme other side of the city so 42 times a month i blasted across the Gardner Expressway, up the DVP to the 401 & out to Scarberia (45min-1 hr run each way)

now i live closer to work but the Batmobile is into winter # 4(i drove it tonight while i'm in the Emergency Dispatch Hotseat until 0630 Christmas morning)

get new tires, good brakes & lots of patience & hope a stupid don't clock into ya...lol
Pete.

Wow! I had my vette 5 months now and averaged 100 miles per month between repairs. Hope to drive it more when summer comes around. Its in storage for the winter/repairs now.

I drive mine daily around 30 miles or so to and from work rain or shine. I haven't driven my truck since September except for moving it around in the shop. I just can't bring myself to get out of the C3 and into the 3/4ton Chevy. I will have to get into my truck soon though as new parts and pieces are stacking up and it's time to do some more mods.

208,000 miles - if Lars wasn't rebuilding my carb I'd be driving it to and from work even in this snow. Obviously, rain is also not a problem. My roundtrip is 9 miles, so you win...

Untill I bought my girlfriend a new jeep, we only had 2 cars (my '74 being one of them) and it was my everywhere all the time car for 2 years....I'd guess 16,000 miles a year...

So what comes with driving yer Vette EVERYWHERE ? Some jerk hit my back right corner in a parking lot....not terrible damage....but enough that I want her to stay in the garage except for special times...

Special car - special times.

Cars take a beating on the road....and stuff just happens (like the parking lot...)... I dont want a trailer Queen....but I just dont want to make her a "daily" driver anymore. I have an American responsibility to keep that car alive...she's part of history now and I'm trying to respect her for what she is !

P.S. - the parking lot person didn't even leave a note...

That's impressive mileage on a stock L-82. Anything changed in the engine like the cam etc or is it all original? What kind of oil do you use and how often to you change it?

I drive mine on a semi regular weekend basis.... but when I do drive her, I drive her like I stole her...hard. come out with the riverside guys one week there all in C5 C6 and Z's FAST...
But to pass a Z... the look on there face.... PRICELESS.....

PS... It would really be nice to find another C3 that can keep up to join the group....A really great bunch of people...

i use castrol gtx 10w40, i change about every 5000 miles or so.i am surprised the engine has held up, i got this car about 6 yrs. ago, was smoking bad.checked the valves seals.what seals they were all gone.fell off. put new ones on and it stoped smoking it uses about half quart every two weeks. it also leaks a little.this motor turns 3000rpm at about 65. i try to stay under 3000,the engine runs good but dont push it to hard

Thanx for the response. I changed my valve stem seals about 15 years ago to umbrella seals and I have no issues either. Mine leaks oil as well! I have comp cams 1.5 roller rockers and use Mobil 15W-50 and change it every year which is about 1,000 miles. My turns 3,500 RPM at 70 MPH and I consistently runs at about 80 MPH. So far so good! No internal changes yet!
