whats the feelings on Zips products complete suspension and steering rebuild kits.I see they have one big kit that has it all.a little cheaper than most.Too good to be true?
No........... not to good to be true Zip has some great deals and prices too. I rebuilt my whole suspention front to rear with Zip and couldn't be happier
Mine seems to bouncy. I have the kit with heavier springs but I think the shocks are too weak for it. It's the kit that doesn't change the A-arms but pretty much everything else.
I'm not sure if they are China, all the parts seemed pretty good to me. The shocks we're kyb and I think it was more of just an engineering matching problem. If they would have just added some upgraded shocks to handle the stiffer springs it would be perfect. Just too much bounce.
KYB GR 2's ... I had a set of KYB R 2's. They were my first upgrade. Although better than the worn out stockers ... when I upgraded to a fiberglass rear spring ... they let me bounce, bounce too much. Railraod crossings became almost funny.
Bilstiens have me almost sorted out ... "almost" .... I still think about going back to a proper steel spring. I would like to try a back to back comparision with my car as its set up. Maybe when I have more cash and time!
Not made in China. All of the front end parts, ball joints, tie rods etc are made in Oklahoma City and Canada. They are made by Affinia which is TRW, that was the original manufacture of them. I think these are the same ones that are brown boxed for MOOG. These are different then the originals in that they are now a replacement but they are still made by the same company.
