Default 77 C3 transmission change question

Can anyone give me the details of putting a 200r4 in my 77 car in place of the stock 350? What is needed and what works and what doesn't? I can turn the bolts I just need a list of what is needed if this is a good way to go.
Thanks guys for any help!

The only things you need toi get right is the tv cable adjustment and how you want to lock the convertor. The trans swap itself is just that. I would suggest finding a donor from a Monte SS

You will also have to modify or get a new crossmember for the 200 4R (700 is different). Here is a sight that will have everything you need as well as info on the TV cable adjustment. Do not run tranny without this cable hooked up and adjusted properly or you will burn up your tranny.

Default trans 200R4

On using the 200R4 what is the situation with the driveshaft? Longer or shorter--or same?

Same d/shaft.....that's the beauty of the 200 4r over the 700, that and it's much better suited and lighter ....

the 200 sets on my old Muncie/fixed crossmember location, right on the support, the 700 sat on the modified muncie support, rather complicated...

Default trnas swap

Just talked to my trans guy and he told me there is now a valve that goes in the pump on a 700R4 that will make the converter lock up hydr. and not electric. It effectively elminates the need to wire up the lock up converter on the 700R4. It becomes a hyd. issue not electric. He also ran through a list of additional bells and whistles for the trans to improve it for performance. I believe the 700R4 seems to be the way to go.

The things I don't know are shaft length and shifter linkage issues. Any info on what I will need to do?
