Does anyone know if someone makes a shorty (Block Hugger) header that would match up to stock exhaust without modification?
I am looking to put side exhaust on the vette and do not want to have to tow it to the exhaust shop to have the pipes modified.
Any help or info you can provide is as always appreciated...
Thanks, Mike
I can't help it either but your avatar is terrific! Back to business, McJacks are expensive but they are the only header type manifolds that I could find that mimic the stock exhaust manifolds exactly. I have had them on my L-82 for 2 years now and I love them. They hook right up to my OEM type 2.5 inch duals. Hope that that helps! When they first became available, I paid $495 but the price quickly went up after that. You may try and negotiate a lower price-the bad economy and all! Hope that this helps!
Thanks all for the input and comliments on my (avatar) daughters (ha, ha)
Do you know will the ram horns on the McJacks interfear in anyway with the linkage for Steeroids system?
Good advice, I may call and see if they can work with me at all... every penny helps on a restorod build up...
I bought block huggers. They sit close to the motor mounts so I got the powder coated ones to reduce some of the heat. I cut some of the pipe away with a sawsall and used a piece of flexable pipe to make the attachment to the exhaust. This got me to the shop for a professional connection. Cost me $200 for the powder coated block huggers and about $90 for the install. I also needed to replace my plugs with shorter ones. About $40
The price gap starts to close on the two options.
