Good post..
To be honest not really. I had quite a few bulbs out so it was like night and day, but I couldn't say if any particular (working) bulb was brighter than before.

Cheers

Here's what I'm planning to use instead of the LED strips on my 1981 Corvette. They install in the stock locations with no extra wiring and are $2 a piece online.

Has anyone tried these bulbs before? They come in white, red, or blue.......I'm thinking blue.

You are in my thoughts

It's not actually that bad, to be honest if I had done the job armed with my instructions it would have been easier, but as it was the job was annoying, but not hard.

Best of luck mate

Great write up. Thought I would bump it up in case anyone had not seen it. I wish I had seen it before I tackled all of that.

Sorry, I don't quite follow your question. Could you please word it in a different way?

Cheers

Default Dash bulbs

I did this not too long ago but I replaced all the bulbs with 12V BA9 leds.
Free postage from Hong Kong, 0.60 cents each. great soft light, NO heat that kills the plastics and will never have to be replaced again....in theory anyway.
So far not a problem..

Great write up. I had to do this job 3 times within a short period of time while fighting with a tach conversion and speedo rebuild gone wrong.

After the third time, when a bulb popped out during reinstallation, I found it to be easier to lay on the floor board, hang my legs out the t-top and snake my hand up behind the dash through all the wires and R&R the bulbs in the speedo/tach.

Wasn't much quicker ...lol

My question was, with the top of the dash pad removed, can i remove the tack and or speedo without completely removing the dash panel?

Mod 75

If it's a 75.... no chance

Dash panel hast to come so far out to reach the back of the tach / speedo, you practically have it out already!
