Does any one own an Autocraft Auto Scope ignition scope? I picked a portable one up the other day but it didn’t come with a manual. The scope has 3 inputs (coil, inductive clamp, and capacitive clamp and coil pickup). Here’s how I think it hooks up.
> The coil input goes to the coil- or tach out on my HEI.
> The inductive clamp goes to the #1 plug wire.
> The capacitive pickup clips on top of the HEI coil.
Yes. Just FYI, there is no real difference in O-scopes (or Lab scopes) that use non-contact pickups. This means that information you find on one will apply to others. So if you happen to find info from an OTC, it will be applicable to your scope. Some scopes at the higher end, particularly lab scopes, have more features (reading more than ignitiion traces) and you will work from a menu but you'll be able to match things up.
In your case, the coil- is for reading the primary ignition signal, the conductive is showing the secondary (the one that is usually where you find your problems). The inductive on 1 is just the scope trigger that tells the trace when to begin.
