The miles-counter from my speedo doesn´t work, so I put it apart. Then I found an arm, which I don´t know for what it is.
Please look at the arrow at the picture. I can move him foreward and back. For what is it?

Here is what I had to do when my odometer froze up. I found it was the white numerals that was frozen. I freed them up and the speedo has worked correctly all summer long. I had help from a few gentlemen that work on speedo's.
That arm your arrow points to is used to increse/decrease the tension on the hair spring in the speed cup. The proper tension, when combined with the correct strength of the magnet makes sure it is calibrated correctly.
