I'm replacing my timing chain and have my original timing cover off. Do I also need to replace the seal on the Timing Cover that goes around the crank? If so, any tricks for removal and installation?
Take the oil pan off and replace everything, you don't want to have to go back and do this all over again a second time. There's a better than average chance that when you disturbe a seal, it won't reseal

Punch the old one out. Tap the new one in with a rubber mallet.
I didn't drop the oil pan but it would have made it easier. The bottom one is a bit$h. I put the some rubber gasket on the upper one so it would stick to the block. I installed the cover and held it in place with two of the bolts near the stubs. Loosely installed. I oiled up the big rubber gasket that seats between the timing chain cover and oil pan. I pushed it in with a screw driver and slide the one side up into position then pushed in the otherside with a screw driver. It hasn't leaked.
