I have a set of Rally wheels I just pulled of a project and would like to verify what they are by date code.
On the rear is: 15x8KK I 30 K195 o3D
near the stem is: K195 5 3 AZ
Near the lug is K195 24 C
From the brief searches I did I came up with either May,1969 or May 1979. Which is correct and what is their value? I don't need these anymore.
Thanks
Your stem numbers are the ones to use...so, May 3, 1969 should be correct. I will have to look that up to be sure...but believe that is correct from memory. Value???????? all depends on condition. Do you have the original caps, the 4 clip rings to go with the sale? Any dents or other anomaly's? They should have a black inside with a slight silver over spray through the hole opening's. $400-500 with everthing being correct, plus the ring's and caps. Show to driver condition. Hope this help's.
Thanks for the quick response. I only have the rims. No center caps and trim rings. There is a light surface rust on a couple of them, but otherwise no damage.
K=Kelsey Hayes
1=Chevrolet Division
9=1969 or 1979 can be either
5=May
5= does not belong here as the only time there is another number in this
position is for a 2 digit month
3=third day of the month.
Rally wheels are available new for about $80.00 each from the parts suppliers. Originals in really good shape seem to go for about $100 each (more if they've been restored correctly) but are very expensive to ship due to their weight.
By the way, the codes on rally wheels are hidden from view when the wheel covers or trim rings are installed and therefore not judged at NCRS events with the exception of the spare.
